Lada first earned Broadway credits as a singer/dancer/actress with the original Broadway cast of Bye, Bye Birdie as "Penelope Ann" in 1960. The production also featured Chita Rivera, Dick Van Dyke, Kay Medford, Paul Lynde, Dick Gautier, and Charles Nelson Reilly.

Original Bye Bye Birdie cast member Lada St. Edmund, who played "Penelope Ann" in the 1960 production, came to see Bye Bye Birdie and visit current cast member Deanna Cipolla who plays "Penelope Ann" in the Roundabout Theatre company production.
