At age 17 in 1965, Lada Edmund, Jr.was receiving as much publicity as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera when they first launched their careers with the hit records “Baby One More Time” and “Genie In A Bottle”. Forty-four years later, Lada is now a personal trainer for men and women of all ages, and helps kids stay fit as an ambassador against obesity in children with her Trim Kids Program .
Now a resident of Wayne, NJ; Lada first earned Broadway credits as a singer/dancer/actress with the original Broadway cast of Bye, Bye Birdie as ”Penelope Ann” in 1960 and with replacement roles in Broadway productions of West Side Storyas “Anybodys” and Promises, Promises (1968) as ”Vivien Della Hoya”.
Bye Bye Birdie is having its first revival in almost 50 years when its opens on Broadway on October 15, 2009 starring John Stamos and Gina Gershon. The original Broadway production won 7 Tony Awards in 1961 . The cast had a 35th anniversary reunion at Sardi’s on April 18, 1995.
